Isn't two hours a lot for a catalogue?
It's one afternoon, once. And it's what makes the quote come out with your prices and your suppliers instead of generic numbers. If you don't tell it how you work, you'd be correcting every document by hand — that would be hours, every week.
Do I have to install anything or learn a program?
There is nothing to install. Day to day it is just another contact in your WhatsApp, and you talk to it the way you would talk to anyone. What you do open, in your browser, is the web dashboard: to sign up and to build your catalogue the first time. After that it is there to see everything in order whenever you want.
Does Karea send things to my client on its own?
Never. Karea gets the document ready for you; you're the one who sends it. You decide what leaves your phone.
Does it replace my accountant?
No, and we don't want it to. What it does is make sure everything arrives in order: the quarterly folder with invoices issued and expenses, in one go instead of fourteen loose messages.
What happens to my data and my clients' data?
It's yours. We don't sell it and we don't use it for anything other than providing the service, and you can ask us to delete it whenever you want. It's all set out in the privacy policy.
When can I start?
The pilot is full: four spots, the most we can properly support at once. In autumn we open to 50 more people. Put your name on the list and we will talk to you before we open.
How much does it cost?
We have not set a public price yet. We are working it out with the people in the pilot so that it pays for itself from month one for a self-employed tradesperson. Join the list and we will tell you before anyone else, with no commitment.
What if I am not good with technology?
It is built precisely for people who do not want to fight with software. If you can send a voice note on WhatsApp, you can use Karea day to day: it is a conversation. What does happen on a screen, in the web dashboard, is signing up and building the catalogue the first time.
Does it understand me if I speak fast or there is site noise?
We adapt to the conditions of the people who use it: the professionals in the pilot use it every day with the voice notes of their working day, and we keep adjusting it to what they tell us. When a detail is missing, or two clients share a name, it asks you rather than guessing. And it always shows you the document before you send it, so if it misunderstood something, you see it before your client does.
Does it work if I work in Basque?
Today Karea works in Spanish, which is how the professionals in the pilot use it. We want to know whether Basque is needed before we promise it: if that is you, tell us when you sign up and you will help us decide.
How is it different from a normal invoicing program?
There is no program. Management software for the self-employed asks you to install it, sign up, learn its menus and sit at a computer; Karea is a WhatsApp contact you talk to. The honest trade-off: if what you want is a spreadsheet with a hundred columns and full bookkeeping, Karea is not that — that is what your accountant is for, and Karea sends them the quarter in order.
What if I want to leave?
Leave whenever you like, with no lock-in: the pilot is free and there is nothing to cancel. And if you leave, you can ask us to delete your data by writing to hola@karea.es.
Does it work with TicketBAI?
It is built and tested, and it is the next thing to go live. Today Karea prepares the invoice and you issue it the way you issue it now; when we switch issuing on you will not have to change anything about how you work or set anything up again. If it is your condition for joining, tell us when you sign up and we will let you know the day it is ready.
